Basic Fellows Track for Young Investigators

Description
•The 79th Annual Meeting in Chicago will hold the 2nd annual basic fellows program, a parallel and integrated basic program designed for basic post-doctoral fellows that will provide lectures and skill enhancement opportunities. In addition to participating in the regular meeting program, the fellows will attend special presentations by ATA meeting faculty focusing on basic science, grantsmanship and career development.

Objective
•To encourage young investigators to submit abstracts for and participate in the 79th Annual Meeting of the American Thyroid Association (ATA). The ATA has limited funds to support travel to the meeting and accommodation for young investigators (at the Embassy Suites Downtown Chicago) who are the lead authors of regular abstract submissions.

General policies and information

• Applications must be received at least six weeks before the Annual Meeting.
•Applications must be submitted by e-mail to jhoke@thyroid.org (confirm receipt).
• Applications will not be accepted by fax or mail.
• Applications must be confirmed/endorsed by the Laboratory or Program Director.
• Applicants must apply to be ATA members online at www.thyroid.org.
• Award recipients will be approved by the ATA based on abstract rank and budgetary considerations.
•Only one grant per laboratory will be awarded.

Applications must include:
• The young investigator’s name, date of birth, work and home address, phone numbers, and e-mail address (also provided in the online membership application)
• The abstract submission code number assigned in the e-mail message confirming receipt of the investigator’s abstract.
• A letter of confirmation/endorsement from the Laboratory or Program Director including all contact information.
