ATA News Alert: Shortage of I-131 may continue through January 2008 (December 12, 2007)
MDS Nordion, the major supplier of I-131 for medical use, has encountered a supply problem. As a result, this problem will likely impact the availability of I-131, however, the extent of the shortage is currently unknown. Given the projected production schedule, the availability of I-131 through January is uncertain and it would be wise to plan accordingly.
