President's Report
June 2020
Thank you:
I would like to take this moment in time to thank all of you for your dedication and commitment to the ATA mission during these challenging times. Specifically, special thanks to the entire ATA staff led seamlessly by Bobbi Smith and now Amanda Perl these past 3 months. Special thanks to the committee members of Surgical Affairs and Clinical Affairs, Patient Affairs and Education, and Internet Communications led by Rosemarie Metzger, Michael Singer, Carol Greenlee, Valerie Peck, Trevor Angell, and Avital Harari, respectively. You delivered expert recommendations for clinical care of our thyroid patients during the COVID-19 pandemic in such a timely and professional manner. This a true testimony to your dedication to the society.

And, thank you to all our members who remained dedicated, engaged, and working creatively from home or the office virtually to participate on our committee meetings and, deliver, our virtual educational programs this summer. You were always available. I know because we needed to contact you frequently and you were always there!
Self-nominate for committee member:
We would like more of our members to participate and have a strong voice in the leadership of our organization. We encourage members to self-nominate to serve on a committee for the next governance cycle. So, please consider; we want to hear from you and strive to achieve a more diverse and representative participation in the ATA's mission.
Next year's ballot:
Be on the lookout in early August for a ballot to choose our next Board of Directors members and President-elect put forth by the nominating committee led by Susan Sherman.
You will hear from many members virtually throughout the year:
COVID-19, certainly tragic, ironically, has also given us the opportunity to better connect throughout the year. We now feature regular videos from our broad leadership of the ATA so stay tuned to the myriad and informative messages from many voices!
Stay well and see you in the very near future!
