Valerie Anne Galton

Valerie Anne Galton Distinguished Lectureship Award

A member of the American Thyroid Association (ATA) since 1963, Valerie Anne Galton, PhD has been instrumental in collaborative research significantly contributing to the advancement of our thyroid clinical knowledge. The ATA has established this award and lectureship to recognize Dr. Galton’s contributions and to recognize an ATA member who demonstrates those attributes.

The Valerie Anne Galton Distinguished Lectureship Award is also the first ATA award named in honor of a woman.

Endowment Fund

ATA is thrilled to announce that the Valerie Ann Galton Endowment is fully funded at $250,000. This accomplishment would not have been possible without the dedication of the steering committee, the generosity of Dr. Galton in providing the initial funding, and all who have provided ongoing donations.

With the endowment goal successfully achieved, the fund provides lasting support for the award recipient’s honorarium, attendance at the ATA Annual Meeting, and presentation of this distinguished lectureship each year. Ongoing contributions help preserve and strengthen this legacy, ensuring continued recognition of excellence and inspiration for future leaders in thyroid research.

Thank You Donors

ATA members and friends of Dr. Galton have generously contributed to the endowment fund, and we hope you will consider making a charitable donation.
