Dear ATA Supporter,

Annual contributions to the ATA provide invaluable support for thyroid research and education efforts targeted at the prevention and treatment of thyroid disease through excellence in research, clinical care, education, and public health. Here are some of the key initiatives your contributions help support:

2018 Thyroid Research Grants

Core to the ATA mission is support of new and groundbreaking exploration of thyroid diseases and thyroid cancer.  You can view past ATA Research Grant Recipients and a summary of their work on the ATA Research Portal.  2018 Research Grant Recipients will be available on the website later this month. We are thankful to our donors and research partners who enable the ATA to support the vital research that improves lives for so many patients affected by thyroid conditions.

Development of ATA Guidelines

Two new guidelines have been published since October 2016: Guidelines for Diagnosis and Management of Hyperthyroidism and other causes of Thyrotoxicosis (2016) and  Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Thyroid Disease during Pregnancy (2017).  Updated guidelines for The Management of Patients with Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer are being developed presently.  The ongoing success and cyclical revisions of our guidelines depends upon annual support and we are so grateful for those that contribute year after year.

Annual E. Chester Ridgway Trainee Conference

The American Thyroid Association (ATA) is proud to support trainees and early career members through the E. Chester Ridgway Trainee Conference. The “Ridgway”, will begin the morning of Wednesday, October 3rd and continue through Saturday of the 88th Annual Meeting of the ATA.

The “Ridgway” is designed to advance basic and clinical trainee knowledge and understanding of thyroid physiology, disease and treatment. The ATA Ridgway Legacy Fund was created to continue Dr. Chip Ridgway’s commitment to education, mentorship, scholarship, and patient care. You can support Dr. Ridgway’s legacy and exceptional trainee education through the Give Online page and selecting ‘E. Chester Ridgway Trainee Conference’ as your area of support.

Outreach and Education to ATA’s Public and Patient Community

At the ATA, our thyroid-experts work to provide new and revised information on all thyroid topics to help you and your family become as well informed as possible on all thyroid conditions and thyroid cancers.   The ATA Thyroid Information library is just a few clicks away on the ATA website.  We are pleased to offer many of our brochures in Spanish and provide a translator on the website for most languages.  We will be adding pediatric and adolescent specific information to our library later this year.  Your donations allow us to continue to provide expert, reliable resources for patients on all areas of thyroid disease and conditions, thank you!

Thank you for your Support!
