The American Thyroid Association® (ATA®) has over 1800 members of physicians, scientists, and healthcare professionals around the world that are dedicated to the advancement, understanding, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of thyroid disorders and thyroid cancer.

The ATA supports the advancement of thyroid research and will consider distributing surveys after careful review on a case by case basis by the ATA Survey Evaluation Task Force. Please review the policies and process and complete the form below if you are interested in distributing your survey to the ATA membership.

Policy to Survey ATA Membership

  • The ATA will not send out more than 3 external surveys a year and no more than one survey a quarter per calendar year.
  • If approved, a fee will be charged depending on how the survey is distributed and ask that the American Thyroid Association be acknowledged in the final research product (i.e. publication, presentation, etc).

 

Process

  • Submit the survey evaluation form electronically below
  •  Survey Evaluation:
    • A minimum of two ATA members that are experts in survey methodology or health sciences research (from the ATA Research Committee) will be in charge of evaluating the survey.
    • The survey will be reviewed to ensure it is (1) ethical, (2) poses beneficial/high quality research standards, and (3) reflects reasonable research standards
    • The survey reviewers will make a recommendation and communicate the decision within 2-3 weeks of the form being submitted.
  • If approved, the ATA staff will contact you to collect payment and work with you on a marketing plan to distribute the survey electronically to the ATA membership. Survey distribution includes:
    • 2 standalone emails to your target audience within the ATA membership (at least 2 weeks apart and within 6 weeks of one another)
    • 1 blurb in an ATA member eNewsletter (ie. SIGNAL)
  •  Please allow 4-6 weeks from the date the form was submitted for the survey to be reviewed and distributed
